It is important to Studio Blackwell that we clarify expectations prior to agreeing your order. Please take some time to read the terms and conditions set out below and, if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us:

  1. Consultation – The initial consultation is free of charge within Gloucestershire or a 25 mile radius of GL20 7EL. This initial meeting is used to understand your requirements and the scope of the work required; to provide advice where required and to take measurements in order to create bespoke products. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for measurements taken or quality of fabrics supplied by you (the client) or a third party;
  2. Quote – We aim to provide a quote within two weeks of our initial consultation. This is valid for 3 months from date of receipt;
  3. Deposit – A deposit of 50% of the agreed quote is required to secure your order. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer. Bank details are stated above. Please note that this deposit is non-refundable, as it will be used to order supplies specific to your bespoke requirements;
  4. Price change – We reserve the right to change prices and specifications without notice;
  5. Fitting – We are able to recommend an independent professional fitting service for window tracks, poles and blinds. The contract for the work is made directly with the fitters and payment should be made directly to them;
  6. Lead time – Turnaround time is generally 6-8 weeks from the deposit being received. However, as most products are bespoke this turnaround time can vary and is dependent on order size. At busy times the turnaround time may be longer and we will advise accordingly;
  7. Installation – Although we do not fit tracks and poles we like to ensure that your new curtains and/or blinds look their best. We therefore hang and dress your new items at no extra charge;
  8. Final payment – An invoice will be provided via email detailing the total order cost, the amount of deposit or interim payments already received and the final balance to be paid. Final payment is due upon collection or delivery of the completed item(s) when a written invoice will be provided. All goods remain the property of Studio Blackwell until payment is received in full.
  9. Fabrics – Fabrics such as silks and linens often have natural characteristics. Studio Blackwell cannot accept complaints or offer refunds for such natural occurrences.  Fabrics are not guaranteed against colour fading and rotting due to sun exposure.
  10. Blackout blinds and curtains – Please note when ordering blackout blinds and curtains we have to hand ‘stab stitch’ through the lining to secure it to the face fabric, and that this sometimes allows light to filter through where it has been stitched. Blackout lining is therefore not 100% blackout.
  11. Carriage Charges – carriage will be charged on individual fabric, poles and wallpaper orders at a standard rate of £15.00.
  12. Poles, tracks, wallpaper and tiebacks – These are all ordered specifically and are therefore non-returnable.

MAKE IT SAFE:  Please note that internal window blind cords and chains can pose a risk to babies, small children and pets who could injure or strangle themselves on looped operating cords and chains All of our blinds are supplied with child safety devices. It is our strong recommendation that they are always fitted.
